WildlifeConnect – A collaborative initiative by WWF, CLLC, CCSG, and CMS that seeks to maintain, enhance and restore ecological connectivity across key landscapes. By doing so, it supports viable wildlife populations, preserves vital ecosystem services, strengthens climate resilience, and promotes human well-being.

NaturaConnect – A consortium project with EUROPARC Federation as one of its leads, supports countries in designing and developing a blueprint for a truly coherent Trans-European Nature Network (TEN-N) of conserved areas that protect at least 30% of land in the European Union, with at least one third of it under strict protection.

International Coalition on Biological Corridors in Africa –At the CBD COP15,  Climate Chance launched an ambitious initiative to protect ecosystems: the International Coalition “Corridors of Biodiversity in Africa“. The coalition aims to bring together climate and conservation actors all actors and working to maintain and restore these corridors. The coalition is a tool for coordination, exchanging best practices, and capacity building as well as continent-wide mapping of corridors.

Room to Roam-An IFAW collaborative initiative to secure and connect habitats, creating safe passages for elephants and other wildlife to travel freely through their home ranges in east and southern Africa.

African-Eurasian Flyway Initiative – A partnership, between the World Bank and BirdLife International, launched in 2025, to protect and restore critical habitats (wetlands, grasslands) for over 2 billion migratory birds. It uses the vast African-Eurasian flyway, linking Africa, Europe and Asia, to mobilize funds, build local capacity, and ensure sustainable management for these vital bird routes and the communities they support.

Journeys for Life – Connectivity is essential for migratory species, and cities play a crucial role in protecting these species and fostering ecological connectivity. Journeys for life is global initiative of ICLEI that empowers cities to take action in conservation, raise awareness, and engage communities in protecting migratory species.

World Database on Ecological Corridors – UNEP-WCMC, in collaboration with partners is  developing a World Database on Ecological Corridors (WDEC) as part of the Protected Planet initiative. The WDEC will provide a global platform to document and track the location and characteristics of ecological corridors, helping to identify key gaps in ecological networks and to assess progress towards connectivity-related commitments.
